How many days to get acknowledgement from UKBA ?

How many days to get acknowledgement from UKBA ?

Hi,

I have posted my application this week from Post office tracking delivery .I want to know how many days UKBA takes to send us confirmation of our application .I also want to know that what is proof that I have send my passport and all original documents to UKBA with me because for now I only have postal tracking courier send receipt .I would be thankful for the help .
