Surrender of Indian Passport at VFS

Dear All,

A few questions because things are not very clear on VFS website and their number is Premium rate. If you can help please:

1. Can you just walk-in to VFS office or do you need to have an appointment?
2. Can I submit the form for Surrender certificate for Spouse and Child even though I'm not applying myself?
3. Any other thing to take care of?

Please provide details based on your experience with VFS, London or Hayes.
