confusing letter from passport office about child passport

confusing letter from passport office about child passport

i received a letter from the passport office asking me for the passport with which my partner entered the country and our marriage certificate i thought i did not need that as i had my PR in march 2010 and my daughter was was in January 2011.
Any advice

my partner is on a student visa expiring in april could that be a problem?

we are not married and her visa will expire in april 2012

Call them and ask. Their customer service is quite good. You are right that normally proof of only one "settled" parent is needed.

I have sent yesterday my partner passport endorsed with her student visa that will expire in march 2012
My question is will the passport office have any valid reason to deny my daughter her passport. if i was qualified alone to apply for it.
