I've just got my ILR, and because my country of origin does not allow dual nationality, and I don't want to lose my original nationality just yet, which means I will probably stay on ILR for a long time.

Is it possible that this could happen, that people on ILR would be asked to either apply for British passport or lose ILR?

Of course no one can be totally confident what a future Government might do .... and no current Government can bind a future Government .... but I would be extremely surprised if the change you are worried about ever happened.

But if you are looking for a 100% guarantee, well no one can give that.
