HI danielte, danielte wrote:Got my ILR today. Here is my experience.
Appointment was at 12 PM. Arrived at Lunar House at 11:20 AM, but they wouldn't let me in until 11:30 PM. Did not take any of my dependents with me. After airport style checks including removal of my belt, I was let in and first went to a counter where some preliminary checks were done including my application form, bank statements, pay slips. Gave a token number and asked to go to the first floor for payment. I made the payment of £3375 through my VISA card and then I was asked to wait in the waiting hall.
I was called at 12:05 PM and my caseworker meant business only and absolutely nothing else. He asked the following documents only
1. Employment letter (with SOC code and my current salary and clauses that said that I am paid at the rates mentioned in SOC and that I am continually required for employment)
2. Payslips - 3 months
3. Bank statements - 3 months
4. P60s - He asked for 5 but I had only 4, but he never made a fuss about it
5. 2 years council tax - for cohabitation proof
6. Life in the UK pass certificates - 2
7. All passports and biometric residence permits
After 10 minutes, he gave back all my originals except the employment letter and asked me to wait. Then he called me at 1 PM and told me that my application was successful and I can collect it 45 minutes later. At around 2 PM, my token number was called and all the passports handed over to me. Checked for the ILR stamp and then exited Lunar house.
My case was straight forward - same employer for 5 years throughout and only 84 days outside the country all on personal leave. I had photocopies of all docs which he took gleefully from me, otherwise this would have led to delays. He took the excel sheet containing my absences out of the country, again he was happy to have it.
They did not give me back my biometric residence permits, when asked about it, they told that they will retain it and cancel it.
