Housing Act - liveable rooms

Post by AcrossBorders » Thu Dec 01, 2011 12:52 am

Hi, can anyone clarify if UKBA accept

Living room and Dinning room that are turned into bed rooms?

i.e 3 bed room house, is now a 5 bedroom house after the above transformation. Thus up to 8 people can live there (immediate family)

Or if someone with a Council report confirm they calculated it like this?

Hi Greenie, I've seen that post which states living-room and bedroom are counted.

But nothing in relation to Dinning room which is bigger than 50sq ft.

Would apprecaite if anyone who has had a report completed by a council /estate agent can confirm the dinning room part.

you are taking it too literally - living room just means a room that can be lived in, not the room where you currently have a sofa and TV. The room is only a dining room because you choose to use it as such. You could use it has a bedroom or another lounge. They key thing is that it must be separate from the Spam.
