HSMP Renewal coming up, how do the new changes affect me?

Post by draymond » Thu Sep 28, 2006 1:46 pm

Hi,

I applied for and got the HSMP approval late last year. When I had applied, the rule was that the HSMP was valid for a year and then I had to renew for another 3 years (for a total HSMP period of 4 years), after which I became a permanent resident. The time to renew my HSMP is approaching and I just found out that the HSMP period has been changed from 4 years to 5 years. Does anyone know how this will affect me when I go for renewal? Will this mean that I'll get a stamping for 4 years instead of 3 years now?

Thanks!
Ray

One more question... Do I get a renewal of 3 years now + 1 more year later or do I get a renewal of 4 years all in one go?

Regards,

Ray
