will Reference letter from Client Company in UK work?

Dear All,

I like to apply for HSMP and need a suggestion on reference letter

I am working in UK for past 3 years by workpermit in my client company.

I got workpermit through a company (say X) which is registered in UK to work on my client site Y, Hence I have been contracted to another company ( say Y) for a project for past 3 years through company X


Now definitely the company X wont like me to get HSMP since I may go away from their grip if I get it

I can get reference letter from my client company Y saying as I been contracted through my company X

Is it OK if I get reference letter from my client company Y saying as "I been contracted from X"

or I need to get reference letter only from X (who applied workpermit) , for successful application?

Please clarify

You need to get the current reference letter from the company which is paying your salary.

Earlier I was also in the same situation and client references did the job ....!!!
