hello guys,

just wondering. i submitted my application via post on the 18th of aug under the basis of 2+3yrs of ILR. its only been 4 working days since they've received my application.

what do you think will be the most likely time frame for the process.

i will post any progess on this board.

just a bit worried that a made a mistake not using the NCS as everyone else seems to have done.

Thanks

NCS or Postal : NCS
If NCS, which centre :CAMDEN
Date of submission or posting :09. 03. 2006
Criteria: 5 yr stay (4 + 1 yr ILR)
Date of debit of debit/credit card : 13.03.2006
Date of receipt of acknowledgement : 16.03.2006
Date of receipt of approval: 27.03.2006
Date of Ceremony: 04.04.2006

Date of appln. for passport : 03.08.2006
Method used : Post Office Check and Send
Date of Receipt : 30.08.2006

The Passport Office contacted my CounterSignatory for a regular check but unfortunately she was on holiday when they sent the letter. After 10 days of not getting a reply, the Passport Office sent another letter to remind her to confirm that she had indeed signed my Passport Application. Fortunately she was back from her holiday then and sent back her reply. Within 4 days of receiveing her confirmation, the Passport Office dispatched my original and British passport.

Everything handled professionally and efficiently and I am indeed impressed with the entire process. Well done , Home Office for a smooth, transparent service , right from Day 1 - Something to be proud of.

Has any of you shorten your name in the application? I have a very long name with some names I never use. NCS told me that I can drop some names if I want to & I did. Its been above 4 months now & I'm wondering whether its because of that.

Just curious TintinHerge, but did you get a regular passport or a biometric one with the chip?

Hello,

I got the mail from my solicitor today that he has received the letter of approval from the Home Office.

Thanks for all the assistance and information.

My solicitor has sent the application at the end of July. The waiting time was around 6 weeks.

I have few additional questions and I would be greatful if someone qould help me with my quieries.
Now I am waiting for the invitation for the ceremony. Will they send it to him or to me? How long does it take from the time of receiving the approval to the time of receiving the invitation? Will they give me the date for the ceremony or will I have a choice?
How quickly do I need to sort out all of that?

Thanks,

Alex

Currently Biometric ones are issued randomly, I think they will replace the machine readable ones from october onwards.

You will see a page like the one below (with the chip embedded) in your passport:

http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/4 ... -ap203.jpg

and I think the cover has something different on it too.

I was issued a regular machine readable passport with a digitised picture.

edit:-

if you see the passport on the page below, you can see the symbol on the cover page.

I just read all the pages in this discussion & It seems most single applications through NCS were processed within 4 weeks. Does anybody know the timelines for Joint applications?

Thank you very much.
I had got two other phone numbers which I could not connect to. The correct number is 01142074074. I could get my details from them and the passport have been posted today only.

Hello,

I have received the approval letter on 6/9/06 (issued on 4/9/6), but I have still not received the invitation letter. I phoned the HO and they told me that was issued on the 7/9/06. 6 days passed since. Is it normal to have such a long delay?
I also rang my city council and they haven't redceived anything either!?

What is the usual waiting time for the inv. letter?

I am just concerned that they lost it in the post.

If you have any thoughts please reply.

Worried,

dralex

Hi Savicomp77

I called Liverpool and they told me that my application was approved on 22nd Sept, same day as yours. they also told me that letter was drafted on 23rd Sept.

However, I am still waiting for the letter to come through the post. My guess is that they didn't post it immediately or it is waiting for signature.

Does your letter have signature of the case worker?
