I'm not sure there is a huge amount to suggest here - but a few more questions that will help enlighten us:

Could either of you switch to a tier 1 or 2 visa?
How long have you been married?
Do you live together (if so - how long)?
How long have you both been in the UK?
When do your courses end?
Are there any children?

There is no other option but to change to any of immigration categories that either of you may qualify for.

Given that your wife is a student, she has the following options:
1. Continue as a Tier 4 migrant (enrol in another course).
2. Tier 1 (PSW).
3. Tier 2.
4. Tier 1 (Investor).
5. Tier 1 (Entrepreneur).
And you become a dependant (this can only be done from outside the UK).

Given that you are a Tier 1 (PSW) migrant, you have the following options:
1. Tier 4.
2. Tier 2.
3. Tier 1 (Investor).
4. Tier 1 (Entrepreneur).
And she becomes your dependant (again, this can only be done from outside the UK).

And that either of you will not be given visa to live in the country of citizenship of the spouse is a misnomer.
