passport validity

please guide me

I m on tier1 genereal visa valid till Feb 2013, now i m going to India and will return back end of Feb 2012. The issue is Passport is valid till Oct 2012.

1. How many months valid visa do we need to have while returning back to UK (regardless of visa validity)??

2. will this passport expiry be a problem while applying for dependant visa for wife in Feb 2012??

Tier 1 visa holder
Visa expiry: Feb 2013
Passport expiry: Oct 2012


1.Applying dep visa in Feb 2012 for dep visa, will my passport expiry be an issue for my dependant?

2. How many months valid passport do we need to have while returning back to UK?

please advise!!!
