Thanks. Are Thursday's usually quieter then? Is it a call centre or a single agent answering calls?

No. At about 12pm I gave up. Don't they close at 11.30am anyway? Bit naughty leaving a call in the queue and closing the phone lines! Lucky I've free calls to 1890 numbers..
what network give you free call on 1890 i try other day on 1890 and it cost me to much thnxx

The average time from application to decision is currently 23 months.

A number of measures have been introduced with the aim of significantly reducing the backlog of applications awaiting a decision and from Spring next year achieving an average processing time of 6 months, except where there are exceptional circumstances.

Every effort will be made between now and May 2012 to achieve these goals. Your patience in the intervening period is much appreciated.
first of all 23 months are far from real time. second by may 2012 i hope they have some genie to do this.

Does anybody has any experience with their local TD regarding naturalisation?
I spoke to the TD's Office in my area today about my situation and the fact I've been waiting 33 months and the lady on the phone was very helpful. She said they deal with a good bit of those queries and that INIS are normally quick to respond to them through email. She took my details; she'll email them today and told me that she expects an answer within 3-5 working days based on the office's past experience regarding this matter. She'll then get back to me and let me know what happened and/or if I need to meet with the TD in person to discuss the matter further.

Does anybody has a similar experience with their TD? Did that help speed up decision process in any way?

I appreciate your response :)

Thanks!

Hi,

I have also been waiting for over 30 months. I also did contact my TD but I personally think it doesn't make any difference. The reply is a template, nothing to show that it is about you . " The application is currently being processed with a view to establishing whether the applicant meets the statutory conditions.........blah......blah....blah" and also don't forget that it is a privilege not a right (you will surely be reminded of that)!

Thanks![/quote]

Is there anything unusual about your case? i.e. do you meet the full residence requirements, and if not, are you applying on the basis of association with an Irish citizen/Irish affinity?

Nah.... nothing unusual about my case. infact it is quite straight forward. I meet the requirements. All the boxes are ticked. I have refugee status.

I had refugee status and my application was approved within 9 months.
I hope your approval comes soon. Keep at it. You will get there.

you dont have to apply for EEA family permit, you have a choice either go for visit visa (single/multiple entry) fees depanding on the length of a visa such as 6mnts , 1 year 2 year ect ect..

your other choice is EEA Family permit which is ofcourse better:
EEA family permit is only valid for 6 months with multiple entry and its free of cost for spouse of irish citizens you are also allowed to work or start business in Uk with this visa.
good luck
