I just want to update my status:

Application sent: 14-Aug-2006 (From India)
Application received: 18-Aug-2006
Reference Number received after requesting through mail: 07-Sep-2006

Status as on 25-Sep-2006 after requesting the status by mail:

Case was still under consideration and in final stage. They said they will update me with the outcome soon.

(Not sure how much time will it take from now)

After an agonizing wait for 45 days and dramatic turn of events, I got my application approved yesterday.

My initial request was rejected and I had to send in for a review. Here is the timeline:

Posted: 5-AUG
Received: 07-AUG
CC charged: 08-AUG
Decision made: 10-SEP
Docs received : 14-SEP

Review: 14-SEP
Reveiw decision: 25-SEP
Waiting for documents ...

All in all, I submitted only minimal set of documents.

Graduation:
Graduation certificate

Age proof:
Notarized passport copy
Mark list with Birth Date mentioned

Work ex:
Experience letters from all employers with start, end dates, designation and work description.
(earlier sent without work description, but later sent additional docs while the case was still waiting in Queue)

Earnings:
12 months salary slips (Attested by employer)
Tax returns

Overall claimed 90 points. Would know exact points once I receive documents.

Mission -hsmp2006 accomplished :) !!!

Post by CrystalCanada » Wed Sep 27, 2006 1:28 pm

Thanks to all of you for your advise & support through this process. Here are my details:

1- Sent application Aug 24
2- CC charged Aug 25
3- Reference # rec'd by e-mail Aug 29
4- Documents rec'd back (Canada) September 25th with APPROVAL letter dated Sept 19.

My application is under 28 from Canada
Field: Social Worker
No Urgent treatment for was submitted

I claimed points for:
> income(£27,000+)
>graduate-level work experience (4+ years)
>age under 28

FYI: My employer's letter did not STATE that the exp was "graduate-level". I simply attached a recent official job-call for my current position which included a 2 page job description. I had my employer stamp and initial the document. (I was a little worried about this....but obviously it was sufficient! yay!)

Hello Everyone,

Congratulation for all the approved persons.

Dear hsmp2006, you said you received you have applied for the review on Sept 14th and you received the approval on 25th. Congrats. With the review form have you supplied any documents (the supporting documents that you have supplied with the initial application) or is it just a review letter and form.

Also is it just taking 10 days for the review results and did you submit any urgent treatment form. By the way what was the reason for the rejection and how did u approach. Please tell me as I got the rejection and I have already applied for the review, but just checking whether I did a write job or not.

I got 2 job offers at present and Iam really worried now.

Please let me know
Thnx

My experience letters didn't contain job description. That was precisely the reason for rejection. While my case was waiting in queue, I realized this shortcoming and sent additional experience letters with job description. However, these additional documents were not considered while evaluating the case and hence it was initially not approved.

Once I received documents, I realized that additional documents are missing. Informed HO about same in review request. Lucky to get response in 10 days.

So, I didn't submit any additional document in review request. Only sent a fax.

All the best!

FYI: Approval letter does not state how many points you were awarded or in which categories. It just indicated that you were successful.

IN COUNTRY APPLICANT

Applied reached them 23rd August (ONE day before my 28th birthday)

CC Charged: Same Day - 23rd Aug

DID NOT get any reference number whatsoever!

Heard from them on 25th September (Just under 5 weeks) (They send refusal letter with documents)

Application got refused, not awarded claimed 35 points for Work Experience and SALARY coz:

1) they were not satisfied that my work as a GRAPHIC DESIGNER was graduate level WORK. i was not employed by some big company, just a small agency.

2) showed salary records for Nov 2002 - Nov 2003 coz i have been in the UK since Dec 2003 as:

STUDENT - Jan/Dec 2004
WORKING HOLIDAY - FEB 2005-2007 (4 months left)

they said that unless u have been studying fulltime since jan 2004 till now, those records wont count. they accepted my course cert as proof till dec 2004 but beyond that i didnt have any other fulltime study proof..

may apply again with modified set of exhaustive documents. do share your comments and opinions or if u wish to have any more information in order to assist me!

Hi ashishgusani,

If you are on WHM since early 2005, there is no way you claim the student benefit and submit earning evidence for year 2002-2003 !! Student benefit in terms of past earnings can only be claimed if you are presently a student.

You will not be able to score in past earnings unless you can show proof of the same.

regards
