Change in Nationality while overseas

Post by shubhoh » Sun Dec 11, 2011 5:04 pm

Child currently in India on Indian passport (No UK visa stamped). We were planning to stamp dependent visa from India BUT in between...

MN1 approval has come in. Child is British citizen now.

How do we bring him back to UK? Can his parent in UK get him British passport (1 week service) & courier it to India?

Technically, child would need to apply for a British passport via the High Commission in Delhi.

Thanks Vinny but then the following questions arise:

Will the child need any sort of visa for exiting India?

Best to call IPS on 0300 222 0000 and ask.

Technically, you are required to provide with the application all valid passport of the child (including non-UK ones).
