Naila sis, thank you please let me know as soon as you find out. If there is anyone else that knows, I would appreciate if you could explain to me what a cover letter is (its apparently what you submit with your hand in passport).

Hi I think the cover letter that you submit along with passport is just a letter stating the date which you intend to travel to uk as this then speeds up the process of returning the passport hope this helps

No There have been people that have submitted the covering letter without tickets and have been ok so I don't think you need proof

Hi

Iv been reading on the form for a while and I am in similar situation as many of you.

My husband's visa got rejected in September and have been given a deadline on mid Jan.

I was hoping that the appeal would get withdrawn as I was advised by my solicitor that not many cases go to court.

Does anyone have a similar time line to mine and if so, have they heard anything since their appeal?

Thanks

There is no such thing as a covering letter. Its called a call in letter in which teh applicant takes his passport,TB certificate and the intended date of travel to teh UK, to ensure applicant travels within 3 months of visa being granted.

Salam Sana,

Welcome :)

My husband's visa was also refused in September 2011, We appealed, accordingly appeal was lodged in October, and we were given a deadline of February 2012. However, Alhumdhulila we have received 'Notice of Withdrawal' yesterday. Inshallah I hope your decision is over-turned too!

By the way on what grounds was your hubby's visa refused on?

Good Luck

Hi I was just going through some old post regarding call letter and when submitting the passport for visa stamp:

I have found that the following is required.. when going to submit passport you need to take:

This letter. Your passport will not be accepted at the UK Visa Application Centre if you fail to present this letter.

Your passport and the passport(s) of any member of your family if mentioned above. The passport(s) should have at least six months validity.
Would this be my husband's passport?

Please confirm your intended date of travel and length of stay.
What would we say for length of stay???? (Is there a form that we have to fill in to show this information?)

For settlement applicants please provide passport copy of sponsor showing their current immigration status.
Would that be my passport? Does it need to be attested and how do I get this to my husband? Also how do I show my immigration status? I am British born. Also do I need to give copies of every page? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :?

We got married in May 2011 here in England as he was on a student visa, he went back to Pakistan in June to apply for the spouse visa and was rejected.

The reason they gave was that they thought our marriage was fake and that he had just got married to get his stay in the UK.

Has anyone been through this type of visa process?

They also didn't believe we were married too. They were not satisfied that we were genuinely married. I had another problem, my signatures on my Nikkah Nama did not match that of my passport. So they thought it was all fake etc.

That's good, your appeal got overturned.

I was hoping mine would, but little chance of that happening as it's mid Dec already.

Is there a chance that the decision could be upheld at the court hearing? or is it given that the decision will be overturned? iv been assured by my solicitor it will def get over turned..but suppose there's always a risk it wont, which im worried about.
