Dear all, just to let you know I have just received this morning the invitation for the ceremonies scheduled for 2nd and 3rd February.

I suppose all who are still waiting for invitations will get them by the end of the week. I posted my docs very late (7th Nov) and was expecting to be the one of the last receiving the letter for the ceremony dates.

So all the wait seems to be over now finally! Thank God!

Best wishes for quick approvals for all who are still waiting!

My wife had obtained her approval letter in end october and she had posted her GNIB card and bank draft on 1-Nov but yet to receive the letter with the date of citizenship ceremony.
Are there any others who have submitted around this date but yet to receive the letter with the date??

I really think you may be wrong in your deduction. The INIS website says the garda immigration bureau and visa section only will be closed to the public. There is no mention about the entire INIS section closing for the festive season. So hopefully, they will be processing citizenship applications (albeit at another snail pace!).

From the www.inis.gov.ie site main page:

The Visa and Garda National Immigration Bureau Public Office will be closed to the public from Friday afternoon, 23rd of December 2011 and will not re-open for business until Tuesday the 3rd of January 2012.
