Above link says, beginning 12 December 2011, all UK visa applications under the points-based immigration system will need to be made online. This includes all UK Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 4, and Tier 5 visa applications.

I cant find any relevant information on UKBA website.Please advise. I am looking for tier 1 general extension online application.

A "visa" can only be applied for from outside the UK. You can only apply for "leave to remain" from within the UK - so you are quoting the wrong link for queries regarding extension application. Also, the mention of "visa application centres (VAC)" in the quoted link is a clear give-away, which you missed noting before posting the query!

The link provided above by newbie_t (for your benefit) tells you how you may apply - including "not - online" method(s). Make an effort to read the information given. Alternatively, if you wish to use the "online" method, follow the link "Apply Online".

Do we need to extend Tier (General) Visa via on-line? Please advice....

I'm planning to extend my Visa by next week. I'm really confused.....
