Schengen visa Multiple entry number of days ?

What is the number of days on the Schengen visa ?
I have got multiple entry visa for france but the no of days is 3.
What does this mean ?

That would be quite unusual, but by now I believe everything.

"No of days" is the amount of days you´re allowed to stay inside Schengen. In this case 3.

Multi-Entry means that you´re allowed to enter (within 3 days of your choosing) as often as you want.

I have the slight suspicion that you´re planning to travel to Andorra? If this is so, please confirm, otherwise your visa would be really strange.

Also by Schengen Visa instructions, they are suppose to add extra 15 days of grace

9.1.1.1. Period of validity
The period of validity should correspond to the information provided by the
applicant. In all cases an additional "period of grace" of 15 days should be
included in the period of validity to allow for a certain room for manoeuvre
for the visa holder. However, the validity of the visa issued should respect the
requirements in relation to the validity of the travel document, i.e. the validity
of the travel document must extend three months beyond the intended departure
from the territory of the Member States and thus the period of
validity of the issued visa should not go beyond that date
(i.e. three months before the expiry of the travel document) either (see point 4.1.1).

But it seems they either never know the rules, or
want to ignore them in the Embassies.

You can try to appeal, saying they didn't follow the rules,
but don't expect anything to come from it.

The French authorities do not enter any discussion concerning visas, they prefer to remain politely silent. (One could also say they´re ignorant (insert swearword of your liking))

The Commission will possibly reply with a complaint number after a month, and then you shall not hear from them before another 6 months pass.

Summary: Appeal "yes", but don´t expect it to change anything...
