Dear friends, I got good advices on this forum and now want to pay it back by sharing my today's experience in Croydon:
- had appointment booked for 9:30am
- arrived at 8:55am; security guy asked for booking reference - either printed or SMS reminder sent by UKBA; I showed him SMS
- airport style check at 9
- officer at the ground floor counter did initial check of my docs - form, photos; she asked me whether I had other documents but didn't ask to see them; she told me to go to the 1st floor;
- lady on the 1st floor gave me my number
- payment on the 1st floor (Visa Debit card)
- then waiting more than an hour in the waiting room...finally my number called
- case worker asked for: form + 2 passport size photos + absences sheet (I had 87 days, all paid leaves/holidays), current and old passport, work permit, SOC code and salary letter from my employer (which looks pretty much like the one provided in sticky notes here), 3 months payslips (signed by HR + employer's letter confirming they were authentic), 3 months bank statements (last two months were internet printouts stamped and signed in my bank), 5 P60s, LIUK pass certificate.
- she asked me if I would like to know how many points I scored at LIUK and I said 'yes'...it was 24 (out of 24)
- after 40 minutes case worker called me back and said ILR was granted and now just need to wait for passport
- 20 mins later called again and given passport with ILR sticker
Thanks everyone and see you on the Citizenship forum
