Dear,
I am a British National and my wife has completed one year after getting her ILR in dec2010.
We are now applying for her naturlisation (form AN)
MY Question:
In the supporting documents required it says
SECTION 7 Evidence of tax for self-employed applicants only
The most recent HM Revenue & Customs Self Assessment Statement of Account
I am self employed and my wife is a house wife. do I need to provide my accounts?

• *Your passport OR
• *National identity card OR
• *Home Office travel document OR

If the name you are currently using is different from the name on your passport or travel document you should send

i have applied for naturalisation also.
i spoke to a few solictors and their advice was- the more the evidence and documentations- the better.
you might as well send it along to prove that you are self employed and can support your family and your wife as a house wife.
you pay £826 for one application and if your application fails, you will not get that money back. so its better to be safe than sorry and saves the hassle of applying again.
hope that helps

And I guess they charge by the hour to go over the documents....
My advice (although I'm not a solicitor) is - the correct evidence and documents - the better.

If you want peace of mind for a fee of around £40, apply through the local council National Checking Service (NCS). They will check that your documents and application is in order...take copies of your passports and original documents..return the originals to you while you wait...and send off your application by secure post.
