Salary Query? Urgent???

Post by aditanu2831 » Fri Jan 06, 2012 5:10 pm

Hi,

I applied for Tier 2 Visa (General) on 16th of Nov 2011 and I'm working here from last 2 yrs on PSW Visa which is due to expire on 11th Feb 2012.

My manager assigned COS on 11th of Nov. I got an email from home office 2 days before stating you job title is not matching the the SOC code so my manager replied to that email that SOC Code is 3131 but that his job title is best described as Web Master. Now what my query is,
the Appropriate Rate for Jobs under Tier 2 (Gen) is changed on 14th Nov 2011 for web master to £28000.00 pa. If you could advice me what was the appropriate rate before 14th Nov 2011. My current Salary is £20100.00 according to the rule which should me more than £20000.00.
My concern is if the salary doesn't match the appropriate rate before 14th nov for e.g if salary for web master before 14th nov is £22000.00 will
they refuse my application. If yes then how will you help me in appealing against it. Is there is any other way to get the visa.
I would be grateful to you if you come back to me on this.

Awaiting for your reply.
Regards

your salary has to meet be at the minimum requirement for the job, just being above £20k is not sufficient.

as i said before....
find different SOC code which is kind of relevant to web master but not exactly.. and has lower salary threshold
they will always check your application against most recent code of practice.

you will need to submit a new app, with a SOC code which satisfies salary requirements....

you will need to discuss it further with your employer if you do find a job with lower salary threshold but i think 20,100 is a bit too low considering new grads are expected to be earning at least 23k!

you have time until 10 th feb to make a new app... sostart looking in code of practice for anything thats relevant
