PROFICIENCY IN ENGLISH - ADVICE NEEDED

Post by spatel07 » Mon Oct 09, 2006 4:30 pm

Hi

As question 8 in (HSMP application form under 28) states:

'Do you speak english?'

If you tick yes, you are supposed to provide evidence including relevant qualifications of proficiency in English.

My cousin abroad who is soon to apply is quite proficient in English and throughout his education years, has studied in an English speaking school & holds a D grade in English Language GCSE. Also, English is used for communication in his current job and is a must. Since he failed his English Language GCSE, will this be a problem?

Any help in this matter will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi,

He need not to provide any document for GCSE Level Education. If he is claiming points for his Bechalor/ Master Degree, then he needs to provide the Certificate for the same only.

Also if he is staying in a country, where English is an Official Language, then that will be enogh to make them convince that he can speak and underatand English quite well... I this this part is not very critical until you answer NO for the question 'Do you speak english?' :)
