Queries on VAF1 FEB 2006 Form

Post by srib » Wed Oct 11, 2006 11:29 am

Hi,
I have the following queries pertaining to the VAF1 Form. Request Moderators, EC holders & people applied for EC to kindly reply:

1. Section 5: 5.1 'How long do you intend to stay in the UK?'
What period should i mention here? When we applied for HSMP, we gave a declaration that we will make UK as our home country.
2. Section 5: 5.3 'Why are you going to the UK?'
Should i mention employment (or) should i mention that i plan to settle in UK?
3. Section 7 - Employment in the United Kingdom
Do i need to fill this section?
4. Is there a computer printable VAF1 Form available?

Regards,
srib

Hi,

Few suggestions already available on the forum. View http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewto ... light=vaf1. Search the forum and you'll find more feedback from fellow friends.

The VAF 1 form is available here: http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/servlet/Front ... 4919208354

Thanks for your quick reply. The link for the form directs me to a pdf form only. Is there a computer printable form like we have for HSMP?

hi people,
i have a query...in sectoin 6 of the VAF1 form (to apply in india) ...it asks for "Your Finances and Employment details" is that for finances in india and employers in india?
I am a student in the UK but applying for HSMP EC in mumbai. i work part time in the UK currently but have secured a full time job offer from UK based company... what do i fill in the Section 6?
Would be highly obliged if anyone has any views on this...

Many thanks,
Rohan...

Just a thought -

If you have a student visa then you are only allowed to work 20 hours per week (term time) and full-time only during semester breaks / holidays etc.

If you state on the VAF 1 form that you are employed, will this not be a problem for you ?? The ECO might question as to why and how you are working part time on a student visa.

So better prepare for suitable answers !!

You just stated that you worked part-time, so I thought I should highlight that as a student you can only do 20 Hours per week during semester time :).

As long as it is 20 hours, you have nothing to worry about !!

yes thanks for that but that hasnt answered my question below:

Since i am a student in the uk and i earn enuf(working part time - 20 hrs a week) to live and rent a place, do i need to show (when i apply in mumbai, india) lots of money in my account in india or can i get away with showing my payslips from work in uk and bank statements form UK...will the ECO in mumbai be ok with this..
Has anyone had to face this kind of situation....

Rohan...

Sorry ... but I have no comments to make on that one as I have no clue.

As I said before, the best place is to check with VFS.

Hey no worries it worked...i got it stamped for 2 years...

All i submitted was the papers that i had submitted for HSMP approval. (previous work experience, degrees IT returns etc etc)

Letter from current part time job along with payslips for last 6 months...
Letter of job offer from uk company
HSMP Approval letter
Tenancy agreement for the place i rent in the uk
Letter of sponsor from brother in law and sister in UK (although this was just a backup)

i was granted 2 years with no questions asked...Back in the UK now and the possibilities seem endless....

Thanks to all for your good advice...!
Cheers and all the best to all applying...
Regards,
Rohan...
