There should be a written reason for refusal.

do you think i should email the embassy to inform them they have failed to give us a reason?

being in the spouse visa process myself, I am very frustrated too...They will try anything to ensure you fail...they really don't care about fair, only about keeping foreigner numbers down..If they try anything like this with me I will hit them with so many lawyers they will spin 360 degrees..and I am a Brit

it seems like it is a money making game for them, especially as now we have to pay for the appeal, and it can only be done in the uk, which takes months...more months away from my hubby...great, just when i need him the most

i am livid with them, i know they will say my hubby lost the letter, but he is not an idiot ( altho i did make his friend check all the documents too, fresh set of eyes n all that)

We have just found out we were refused because of English test, the centre we used is not on the approved list anymore, well u can do test at same centre it just a different test now so if my hubby re does test is it worth appealing because it was on the approved list when he did test or is it better to reapply

He will need to reapply. Unfortunately, the refusal was justified. A new application should be a far quicker process than an appeal which would have little chance of success.
If the test provide had still been on the approved list when your husband submitted his application (only to be removed later) if would be a different matter.

thanks casa

we were a bit niave and didnt realise the appoved list changed until after we applied, thought the solicitor might have picked it up!

my husband has been trying to sort out a new test today in Cairo, Amideast (part of cambridge esol) have said he does not need to do the test as he has already passed it, but they said if he brings test certificate they will certify it, this sounds a bit odd to me, would ECO accept this or not???

British counsil have said he can do test with them on 25th feb, but it takes 3 months to get certificate, or would ECO accept the online results if we gave him login details.. grr i am at the end of my tether here
