ILR as family - partners on independent visa

Post by Sinamib » Sun Jan 15, 2012 11:50 am

Hi,appreciate any help regarding the query below

I am on HSMP Tier 1 visa and my wife is on WP sponsored by her employer. We aren't dependent on each other. Both of us are now eligible for ILR as we have completed 5 years in UK. Can we apply ILR as a family with me as a primary applicant? This would save some money compared to both of us applying for ILR seperately

Thanks

There is no provision to apply as family. To apply as family, one should have been on dependant visa for at least last 2 yrs.
You have to apply individually.

Thank much for the reply. Would you know of an official link to confirm this or further inquire?

Thanks again

Are you on Tier 1 or HSMP they are different, and the rules are different.

Is your wife on Tier 2 or a work permit, again, they are different.

If you want accurate advice you need to give accurate information.

You can't apply as a family. You need to apply separately.
