Applying for PSW Visa 1 year after completion of MSc

Post by 7777777 » Mon Jan 16, 2012 11:30 am

Hello Friends,
I had gone to UK for studying MSc in Psychology.
I completed my Masters successfully.
I got my degree in March 2010.
I didn't apply for PSW visa because of my ill health.
I called few months back the UK embassy and they told me that I can apply at anytime within 1 year after getting the degree.
As per that I can apply anytime before Mid March 2012.
I decided to apply after a month in Mid February 2012.
Also, my previous passport had got damaged completely and now I have a new passport.
Am I right deciding all this?
Are there any cautions that I should exercise?
Please advice me.
Best wishes

if you were awarded your degree in march 2010 then the latest you can apply is march 2011, not march 2012.

Sorry, I had been awarded the degree on 18th March 2011.
Sorry, I was confused.
Thanks for the feedback.

Should I apply in first week of March for the PSW visa?
Thank you for your time.

Why do you need to wait so long to apply, I wonder? If you have satisfied all the requirements, you should apply as soon as possible.

I say this because if, for whatever reason you fail in your initial application, you can have time to make another application. If the one year (12 months) lapses by the time you realise an application fails, then you have lost your chance.

Thank you so much wazobia.
Please may I apply 1 month in advance. I have deadline till 18th March 2012. Please may I apply on 18th February 2012? Will this be fine?
If my application doesn't get accepted then I can apply again in 1 month period. Am I right deciding this?
Please provide your feedback.
Thank you!
Best wishes to you!

You can apply anytime up until your deadline. So if your application is complete, you can make the application tomorrow. There is no rule that says you have to apply a month (or any period of time) before the deadline. You do not have to apply on a certain date. Basically, you can send your application on any date between today and the 18th of March (inclusive)

Do I need to go to UK embassy?
The UK embassy of my state (Maharashtra) is in Mumbai.
Do I need to travel to Mumbai for submitting the application or can I send the application by post?
Thanks a lot!
Best wishes
