Education Grant by Company included in Earning?

Post by vivekR » Thu Oct 12, 2006 3:26 pm

Good Day All,

I am back to the colosseum, to seek advise from the wise ones.

My company has offered to pay 'x' thousand punds for my MBA. All this while my wages were just on the boderline figure of 40k, short by a few hundreds. But with this grant it finally takes my total earning for the year beyond the 40k mark.

My question is, am I allowed to include it in my earnings to gain points? This is the one this that finally gets me the HSMP for sure.

I will eagerly await your reply.

Thanks
vR

Will this reflect in the payslips and will the employer be ready to certify this "grant" as your salary ?? If so, then I don't see why this shouldn't be part of "earned income".

regards

Company Grant

Many thanks for the reply.

Yes, the company is ready to certify the same. The company also makes 10% contributions on our earnings toward pensions. Is that also accepeted as a part of the earnings... in short..... if I make x thousand pounds, and company makes a contribution of 10% of X annually towards my pensions, then does my salary equate to (x + 10% of x) thousand pounds. Company is ready to certify the same on paper.

Moderator? Anyone, please advise.

Thanks everyone in advance
