What exactly do you want to know? Technically, the employer doesn't have to pay for your Tier 1 extension. I am of course assuming that you paid for it on your own for the initial application. If your employer paid for the initial application, they should perhaps be willing to pay for an extension as well.
Having said that, some employers can be generous and there is no harm in asking. I would start by asking your manager.
If you want to claim it back, do remember that you won't get a receipt for the application fee if you apply by post. All you get is the acknowledgement letter. You should check with finance if they are happy to accept your claim based on this acknowledgement and printout of Tier 1 (General) application fee webpage on UKBA website. If you are paying by card, you could also provide the bank/credit card statement. My employer was happy with these.
