The city n guilds test does take 2 months 4 certificate to cum. I think it is the worst test provider to take test wid its easy but the certificates take 4eva. I wouldnt advise any1 to take the test again wid another test provider coz it will take a month to get a test date.

But I have been told that test results issued by institutions affiliated with city and guilds can take 2 months!!!

Guys I need your help, can anyone tell of any English test centres in Islamabad who issue the certificate soon after the test?!

Much appreciated
Please dont say that. I cannot wait that long for my husband to recieve his certificate, I have already sent all the papers to him via a cousin, a little early but we didnt know the exact date of his english exam.

I pray you hear something soon insha'Allah.

this wait is soo stressful, it can not be explained or understood, unless you are in the same exact position, that you are!
I also tell my hubby we'll get a reply, check it every morning, theres nothing but disappointment, I hope we all hear good news soon Inshallah.

When it says OC it means it has been submitted and forwarded. When it says BHC it means it is being processed and they are looking at the application.

This may sound silly..in our appeal, we have been given a deadline of 30th Jan 2012, is this the hearing date?

IF you received a Notice of Pending Appeal the deadline shown on this is not the hearing date. It is only a deadline the AIT give to wherever the visa was refused to review the decision by.. if they decide to over-turn their original decision then there would be no need for a hearing, however if they decide to stand by their original decision then they have to prepare a bundle to be sent to AIT for the hearing explaining why they still refuse etc by that particular deadline. Only after that process a court hearing date would be issued. So for example my hubby's deadline was February 2012, however our initial decision has been withdrawn/over-turned before the deadline, which means no need for hearing now.

I hope that gives you a better idea of the whole process.

thanks for explaining it....do you know how long it takes from the deadline to the hearing date?...hope its not too long!

does this mean that there's a chance it could still be overturned...or is this wishful thinking?

My wife did an 'ielts' exam in Islamabad. It took 13 days to receive.  For more information: http://www.britishcouncil.org/pakistan-exams-ielts.htm

I think that is the date you must lodge the appeal before. Otherwise an appeal will no longer be valid.

OK, so my sis in law seems to have mislaid her nikkah nama and can't seem to find it. Is there a way to get a copy?

AND has anyone heard of these 'tutors' who teach students regarding the English test and supposedly are better than going to a college?

I've heard good things about the SLS college in Jhelum but it takes time to get there and therefore people are finding alternatives.

Anyone have the info?

Hi im a newbie to this site i have been reading up on ur posts for a quiet a few days now its really interesting and really helps.

Anyway here goes my situation please do advice if you can.

I went to pakistan in june 2010 got married stayed for 4 weeks come back to the uk and sent off for my hubbies visa (i went back to pakistan in august come back in december) and he got a refusal in november apealed in december 2010 got a hearing date for 16th may 2011 but that was my due date (how convienient!) so got the local mp to request for the hearing date to be earlier so was moved to the 23rd of april 2010 and the outcome was still refused so closed the appeal did not bother with going to high court.

I then had my baby and when she turned 4 months in september i went back to pakistan to visit my hubbie with my daughter and returned at the end of november looked for work and now have been working since the 2nd of january 2012.

my questions are as follows:

1) is 3 months wage slips and bank statements enough or does it have to be 6 months?
2) im getting child benefit and working tax credit does that affect my application?
3) my weekly wage after tax is £204.56 is it enough?

Sorry for going on but your advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Am I right in saying nobody who applied in December has yet had anything come through ?

I reckon the Christmas period means they are taking longer. The wait is really scary!!!!!

I am still waiting and keep checking.

Yes 3 months slips will do fine

2) I'm getting child benefit and working tax credit does that affect my application?

No it should not as you being a British citizen are allowed to claim these benefits.

3) my weekly wage after tax is £204.56 is it enough?

You need to have about £120 per week left over after you have paid things like Council tax. mortgage etc for you , your hubby and child to live on.

You may need to look closely at why your hubby was refused both his visa and at appeal hearing, as its sounds serious. If those things have not changed, then there is a good possibility that he may be refused again maybe for the same reasons,

Sorry for going on but your advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
