IQU wrote:congrats for your son approval.when he applied for irish citizenship.what ground did you became eu citizens.what is your son current nationality.how old is your son now. if he is non eu citizens just send them copy of his passport and your previous gnib card copy.any more suggestion please
Thanks IQU.
Me, my wife and my son applied ( 3 applications) in Nov 2009.
P60, P21, bank statements sent in in Nov 2011.
We are Romanian citizens so from 2007 we ( me and my wife) didn't need to renew our GNIB card. My son was 16 in 2007 , that's why he never had a GNIB card.
As I mentioned my son received the approval letter yesterday and just found out this morning that I received the letter yesterday as well but at my previous address ( even if I moved from there since 2006). We are still waiting for my wife's approval.
Shoud I send copy of my and my wife's expired GNIB card for my son's file , and my original expired GNIB card for my file?
Also should I remind them my actual address?
Thanks

so you arrived in country when you was 6 year old.why you didnot applied before turning up 18 year.but still your lucky because fine gael party introduced new instrucation to dept.all the applicant will be given decisions within 6 months time frame.anyway for you it will not affect because dept dont have to do to much socail welfare and garda check in your case they only have to check from last 1 year .the time you turn up 18 year old till now.believe me man once you get your ref number your application will be dealt with in 6 months time.these they there is huge delays to refrence number.because they are very busy to clear all the backload.

. I applied when In 2007 but they closed my application because I was a minor they said I have to wait until my mom gets her citizenship and she can apply for me but now I am 19 and I have to apply for my own application because my mom hasnt got a reply since 2007. So does the six month processing time start after I get my reference number or do I start counting from when I submitted my application in November 2011? Thanks

I'm still waiting for mine. Hopefully not too much longer, as I'd need the day off work, as would my husband.

hello guys! Please i am only new here and i would like to as a question. I applied for naturalisation through a layer in 2011(january), but i only found out recently that he is not straight forward with me. As in i think he applied later than january and he doesnt want me to know. My question is (i would like to ring INIS myself to confirm and to also know the stage my application is at but i have already agreed that all my correspondence should go to my laywer). Would me calling them contradict anything or cause a problem because i would like to ring them today. And i have tried to get him to tell me the truth but he's not. I just have that feeling that something is not right. Please can anybody advice me. Thanks
