Name change before applying for naturalisation

Post by thunderera » Thu Jan 19, 2012 10:11 pm

Hi,
I'm planning to apply for naturalisation in two months and want to remove part of my name by deed poll. If I get the deed poll just before the application can I use the new name on the application and send a copy of the deed poll UKBA?

Apreciate any advice.

Had similar with getting married before applying for BC and so docs in maiden name and marriage cert provided for new name. Just added comment in the final section saying why the difference in names. The NCS person said they were happy with it.

Thanks for the info. So I guess if I provide a deed pol for the name change with the application they will accept it?
