Post by Aug07 » Mon Jan 23, 2012 11:24 am

Hi Friends, I have two queries
For co-habitation I am attaching my wife's 2 year bank stmt. but half of them are dupilcate bank copy as we don't have 2010 original stmt. Is it ok?

Also I am attaching house agreeement from 2010 till date but we have one agreement which we had done in 2010, is it ok or I need to have two agreement of 11 month each?

You need to have 6 different documents, from at least 3 different sources, with both your names on.

See page 19:

@sameer9966

It doesnt matter if you moved within the 2 year period.

Try to get an even spread over the 2 year period. For example, one at the beginning, middle and end of each year (roughly). So, if your application is in Jan 2012, aim for about these dates:

Jan 2010, June 2010, Nov 2010, Feb 2011, July 2011, Dec 2010 or Jan 2012

It needs to be 6 documents, from at least 3 different sources. This doesnt mean it must be 2 from each source. You could have 6 different sources. It is just to avoid applicants producing, for example, only bank statements.

If you are applying on the basis of 5 years completion and your spose is included in the same SET(O) form, then you need not to provide 6 documents. If the spouse has an active bank account, the bank statement covering 2 years (in the same address of yours) should be okay.

If you are applying in FLR(M) or SET(M) form, then you need to provide 6 docs from 3 different sources.

We probably need to understand what you mean by duplicate. As long as its attested or certified true copy by your bank the documents are legally equivalent to originals. Get them certified by the bank unless you haven't.

In addition to what yameen said, in fact the statements issued by the bank are always considered to be original, even if it is issued for the second time (I presume you are calling this duplicate). As long as it is in the bank's stationary with your name/address/account no/sort code in it, this is acceptable. You need not to get it certified by the bank.
