From 29 February BRP, Long waiting.... watch out...

Post by qaws_14 » Mon Jan 23, 2012 11:38 pm

Dear All,

Those who are close to ILR qualifying......you must be aware of the new BRP to be provided to all the ILR applicants.

Just to inform you that for the BRP there is a long, very long waiting time..
so apply as soon as possible and get an appointment, if going premium.

Well, as far as I know there are not appointments till 23 of April on the website of UKBA which does not show more than 42 days and people have started booking for the may on telephone.

there are some appointments on 01 march if you want them, but I think they are useless for you as you qualify after that.

You can book an appointment on the UKBA website for which first you have to register on it. There is guide available on the website which can be seen after you login. It is very simple. Check it out.

You can only apply if you are eligible and 42 days in advance.

Don’t worry Biometrics won’t cause any delay. For same day PEP applications, they will take biometrics on the same day and will send the cards by post in couple of days.

BRP

Post by umeruzair » Tue Jan 24, 2012 12:04 pm

Hi,

Could you please confirm which BRP should I apply to book an appointment? Is it BRP (RC)?

My ILR Set (O) is due in May.

Thanks

you don't book a separate appt for the BRP if you are applying in person. You book an in person appointment, selecting the category for which you are applying (not BRP(RC) this is for replacement BRPs), and the biometrics is part of the appt.

If applying by post you will receieve a biometric invitation letter after you have applied, at which point you book the biometric appt.

How can one book appointment for May now?
I thought you can only book appointment 42 days in advance, does this not apply to appointments booked by phone?

If appointment by phone is available for more than 42 days from today, how much further can I book appointment by telephone?

My appointment is also in Apr-May, and I don’t think so the system will allow you to book anything beyond Tuesday, 6 March 2012 which is 42 from today.

Have a look at UKBA website. Once you are registered than it allows you to book an appointment within 42 days

Can someone please explain a bit more about BRP?

I understand once BRP is issued, it will be on card, would they still stamp passport with vignette for ILR or just the BRP card?

Any idea of what happens to those who apply for ILR before UKBA starts issuing BRP cards for ILR?

Like in our case today we got our ILR and it is stamped on the passport.

Btw any advantages of having BRP card over a stamp? If yes then can we apply for BRP separately ?

Hi freind12345,

I know that there are many appointments available in February and on 1st Marsh as well. But you must remember that for the appointments before 29 february BRP is not required.

Read my original post, it says clearly about BRP and that means march onwards there is a long wait.........

For 29 february and 1st march, it seems people are not booking appointments because in my opinion they do not wnat to be "guinea pig" for the new system.

If you go for postal route then you have to wait for the letter from home office for the Biometrics appointment. You do not need to book it before you apply

Hi,

QAWS_14 - I am also interested in what nnj10 has asked in regards to your statement saying people have started booking for the month of MAY via telephone. Is this true or a typo? (im not talking about online bookings). Either way, whether by phone or online, I thought it was still only 42 days ahead that you can book.

If its not a typo, did you call yourself or know someone how has (ie: how do you know this?)

My ILR is due around MAY as well

Thanks for your help
Dave

This thread has its foundation based on false alarm..and not suprisingly it is getting the sort of attention such alarms normally generate. oh dear

Has anyone heard of "Super Premium Appointment" for biometrics by paying £6000 for the same?
Would that apply to everyone applying for ILR after 28th Feb at PEO?
