App sent end of last week.
App received at HO yesterday (16/10/06).

Ya, I've learned that Pak master degree is equal to UK bachelor so they award 15 points for that but the point i'm worried about is that i've claimed 25. So question is this that will they simply deny that I don't qualify or award me points I deserve?

Thanks for your help/comments

Just DHL'ed it

Post by inso » Tue Oct 17, 2006 11:36 am

Submitted this morning using DHL. Included in package is an empty DHL bag with waybill included, filled-in and signed, for the journey back. DHL assured me that it is in order.

Submitted: 17 Oct
HO received: 19 Oct
CC charged: 19 Oct
Ref. no assigned: 21 Oct (Yeah, 3pm on a Saturday!)
Urgent treatment requested: 23 Oct
Letter & documents sent out: 26 Oct
Notification of above: 30 Oct
Called in for result, informed it was a "miscommunication": 30 Oct
Received email that decision has been made: 31 Oct
Called in for result: 31 Oct
Approved! Although they immediately sent it out via Royal Mail, even though we asked for a courier to pick it up :( Here's hoping our respective postal systems don't talk to this up...

Points claimed:
- under-28: 5
- academic qualification: 15
- work exp: 25
- earning power: 25
- spouse: 10
TOTAL: 80

Hope this helps others...

sush and all other members,
I have a query is that I have submitted notarised copy of passport.

instead of photostat, as sometimes photostat is not clear, I scanned passport and then print it. and I print it on A4 paper ofcourse and I enalrged image of passport on whole page so its bigger than photostat. I did this to make it more clear.

do u think HO will have an objection on this.

also attached origional birth certificate and translated national ID card copy.
there are no phone no on birth certificate that it can be verified. date on birth certificate is of sep 06 as I didnt have birth certificate b4.

Hi,

Apologies for asking the same question again, but is there anyone whose application (through courier) has been signed for by a person with initials "S.Cott." at the time of receipt at Sheffield office?? This info. - as to who received your application and signed the receipt - can be seen from the website of the courier company through which you have sent the application. I used FedEx !!

I am kind of worried and hence wanting to hear from fellow members who have applied since the last couple of weeks.

Thanks in advance.

Answer to Root passport

Post by uk4James » Tue Oct 17, 2006 4:21 pm

Root,
My experience with the passport is that as long as it was notarized by an official notary they don't seem to care what else is done to it. When I submitted the first time, I sent a copy of my passport on nice color paper along with a copy of my drivers license. They did not give me points for this and graded me for every category over the age of 28. This time, I sent it in on black and white paper but it is notarized. So as long as you are notarized, you should be fine. :)
For the birth certificate, the same information applys. I believe that if it is an orignial copy provided by your government with a government seal and on government paper, you should be fine.... even if no contact is available. I am not sure about the ID card, but my guess would be that if it is a photo copy and not an original, they won't count it.
Hopefully this information helps!

ID Card is in Urdu language thats why I submitted translation notarised copy.

My employer mentioned his UK no to contact him in experience letter while letter head mentioned its pakistan branch address. will HO contact him on UK NO?

I am not so sure about this one, but I assume they would contact the employer who left his contact information, addressed your work experience directly and not the information on the letter head.

Good call on the translated document. I am sure the original and the translated notarized copy will help. :)

Re: Finally sent in my application

Status as on 18-Oct:-

Have received no reference number yet.

Called up my credit card company to check if a charge has been made, and they said not yet, but did confirm that there was indeed an authorization request from Work Permits BUT (this is interesting and also cause of concern) it was only for 155 GBP   !! They said that the this cannot be treated as a "charge on my card" since the merchant has not requested for fund transfer yet (from credit card company to Work Permit bank account).

Have sent an email to HSMP to advise me of my reference number. Given the way they work, hopefully I'll have the reference number in 2-3 weeks

An authorization for 155 GBP :?: , I am completely confused

case worker assignment

Post by uk4James » Wed Oct 18, 2006 6:49 pm

It always seems that the longest time to wait is to get a case worker assigned. I am sure within a week, we will all start hearing we have them! After that it goes pretty quickly from what I know.

Waiting to be assigned case worker

Post by bollyfan » Thu Oct 19, 2006 9:14 am

Hi Guys,

As is the case with most of you,

my application is also "waiting to be allocated to a caseworker".

i have submitted on 5th oct.

Has anybody's application assigned to caseworker for oct applicants, except for urgent treatment forms?

Cheers.
bollyfan.

hi,
I have applied for HSMP ( from India) on 6th Oct for over 28 category and my application fee i have given a cheque of my existing bank account in UK. I didnot get any confirmation yet from Home office. I checked from fedex website that my application was delivered on 9th Oct 10am. But still no acknowledgement from homeoffice..

Not worried yet, but anxious why still no response? I had filled in the acknowledgement slip along with my mail-id on it.

The address I sent is

Immigration & Nationality Directorate
Work Permits (UK) HSMP
7th floor
Fountain Precinct
Balm Green
Sheffield
S1 2JA

I didnot put HSMP as the first line

Will it create an issue in my document getting delivered?
