Alternative to Birth Certificate

Hi,

I am going to apply for 'Right of Abode' shortly. My father was a CUKC and on that I hope to apply. But problem is, I don't have the birth certificate as required by Home Office. Although I read somewhere, education certificate shall be accepted provided it is issued to a date close to date of birth. Currently the certificate I have is one equivalent to O-Level. So, to me, the issuing date is not very close to my date of birth.

Can anyone then suggest me how do I solve the problem?
