MN1 timeline please

Post by critizza » Tue Jun 28, 2011 11:38 am

I have two children who were born in the UK. We have all been granted ILR recently. I gather from reading the posts and the UKBA website that I need to apply through the MN1 form.
I have failed to contact the UKBA office on their telephone contact.

Can somebody advice me regarding the following:

1. Is their a priority service (similar to th eone offered for ILR)?
2. How long does it take once the application is submitted?
3. Is there a neccessity to stay in the UK during the period after submitting
the form?
4. If we decide to relocate back to native country how long is the ILR valid?

Thanks in advance for the reply.

:)

1. No.
2. In general, 4-6 weeks.
3. Don't think so.
4. See returning residents.

Hi critizza

is there any reason why did you apply ILR for your kids as you said they were born in UK and according to forms here they are elligible to apply directly for MN1 without getting ILR.

thanks

Thanks for the replies.
Firstly I am reassured about the return dates as we are planing to travel in 8-10weeks time.
Secondly I wanted to have ILR status in their passports as I wasn't planning to apply for their citizenship now.

Once the application is approved how long will it take to physically have the passports?

Thanks.

See here: 2-3 weeks for standard service. One week for fast track.
