Tier-1(General) Extension Query-Important

Post by karthik_agnihotram » Tue Nov 22, 2011 10:27 am

Hi,
I am in Uk with Tier-1 General duration 27Apr2009 to 27 Apr2012, this was a switch over from work permit to Tier-1 general in UK.
While calculating points eligibilty i observed that its not accepting Bachelors degree.
It states that it is mandatory to have PHD or Master's.
I hold Bachelor's degree.
I have sufficient points from all other sections except Phd or Master's.
How can i apply for Tier-1 General extension?
Is there any other procedure ?
Can some one help me, please.

Regards,
Karthik

I assume that 27 April 2009 is the date on the visa from when its valid. When did you actually apply the visa- was it before 31 March 2009? If so, then you should select the appropriate application date from the drop down and this gives an option fo Bachelors degree if application date is prior to 31 March 2009.

Hi Karthik_nk
Yes these dates are as per my passport.
But i started processing my visa before 31 march 2009.
It took for me around 4 weeks for the process to complete.
Hence visa stamping date is 27 April 2009 till 27 April 2012

If they mean when i started processing, i will be very happy, i can enjoy my holidays with peace of mind.

In points based system it says:
Enter the date you first successfully applied under Tier 1 of the points-based system.

Does that mean the day when i started my visa processing?

Or is there any time limit, like , i need to apply one month before only, when it gets expired

You may apply as and when you wish to, but do read Early Extensions: Tightening the noose.
