BiggerJosh,

The residency calculator is actually easy to follow. And just so you dont have to worry too much, the importance of the calculator becomes relevant if you are making an application at the thin lines of dates. I will give you an example:

1. If you arrive in Ireland in 2006.

A. 01/012006 - 01/01/2008
B. 30/12/2008 - 30/12/2010
C. 23/12/2010 - 23/12/2012

If you make an application today, your reckonable residency will be:

A. 01/012006 - 01/01/2008
B. 30/12/2008 - 30/12/2010 (Note you renewed your residency early by a few days)
C. 23/12/2010 - 02/02/2012 (less at least one day for every leap year)

The above will qualify you for the naturalisation application as that should be more than 60months.

All the best

THANKS for the reply but my quey is regarding the application form which when u fill it asks for the dates for all ur stamps and the period of days for e.g; no. of days
1/1/2011 - 1/01/2013 around 730 days
how much should be the no. of days which i should put in whether it should be 730 days or 390 days depending upon the date which i am applying
thanks

Biggerjosh,

As soon as you type in the date and submit - it will generate the number of days for you!

If your application is today, the final input should be:

1/1/2011 - 03/02/2012

and not 1/1/2011 - 1/01/2013
