urgent query - Tier 1 Extension

Post by jaz73 » Sat Feb 04, 2012 12:12 pm

Do I use the salary date i.e. the date on the salary slips and corresponding bank statements for the 12 month period? Or is it the period of actual work that is taken as earning period?

For e.g.:

If Salary date on the payslip for first month of consideration is 15 dec 2010 and date on payslip for the last month of consideration is 14 dec 2011 - is it ok to use these dates as start and end for earning period?

Thanks

It is the period of actual work. My pay date is around the 15th of the month. But the period worked is from the 1st to the last day of the month.

e.g. I claimed my pay period from 1st December 2010 to 30 November 2011. But I have always been paid aroung the 15th of the month. The pay date is important because it corresponds to when the date the money was paid into your bank account.

I suggest sending in a table detailing thie following information. Pay period (per payslip), Pay date on payslip, Gross pay (per payslip), Net pay (per payslip) and date paid into bank account. I also highlighted this information on my payslips and banik statements. And forget to include the total for the 12months.

So can I apply as above? I have been working with this organization since may 2010.

or will they not consider my dec 14 2011 earnings? The pay slip just has a payment date not a pay period.

To make it clearer:

for eg:

15 jan 2011 - 2000
16 feb 2011 - 2000
18 mar 2011 - 4000
15 apr 2011 - 2000
16may 2011 - 2000
19jun2011 - 3000
20jul2011 - 2000
16 aug 2011 - 4000
17 sep 2011 - 3000
18 oct 2011 - 2000
17 nov 2011 -2000
22 dec2011 - 3000
14 jan 2012 - 3000

can i give this period? from 15 jan 2011 to 14 jan 2012 it is 12 months

If I do this for the final period nov to dec there are 2 payslips. so 13 payslips in 12 months. will this be ok? the last payslip of 14 jan 2012 has only just come into this period because the company had paid all employees earlier for this month.

I see it marginally differently and to answer your question at the end of this assumed salary table, one needs to understand that when you are paid on 15th Jan 2011, what period is that salary for. I use to work for a company. I joined end of March 2011. Company policy for salary was 15th of the month. So my salary from 21/03/2011 - 30/04/2011 was paid on 15th April 2011. HOWEVER, when I will appear for my extension (in March), I will count my 12 month period from March 2011 - February 2012.

Hope this makes sense. Now coming back to your table - If you are paid on 15th OF each month, does your salary period is 15th - 14th of the month? If so, your assumption below is correct (i.e your 12 month will be 15/1/2011-14/12/2011) However, if your salary period (for the salary paid on 15/1/11) was 1st Jan - 31st Jan, then you should consider your 12 month as 1/1/11 - 31/12/2011.

Hope this helps
