Salary increased WP holder

Post by tanvirni » Sun Feb 05, 2012 9:22 am

Dear All,

I am in old style work permit will be eligible for ILR in May 2013. My work permit was initially issued for salary of £21,000 in 2008, after two years my salary was increased to £26,000. According to SOC minimum of £27,000 is needed for ILR application for my job title. After a discussion with my employer they agree to increase my salary to £31,00o from this April. So, my salary will be £10,000 more what mentioned in my WP but my responsibility didn’t change. Will this be a problem when I will apply for ILR?

Regards
Tanvirni

Dear nnj10,

Thanks for your quick response.
What is your opinion on this where says any significant salary increased need a fresh application but as you know government already said we need to earn same or above as per SOC code. Thanks again for your time.

Hi Tanvirni,

Salary increment is not a problem. If your salary is increased because you are promoted or job responsibilites changes then yes it will effect terms and conditions of your work permit.

For instance, your work permit is on graduate level job and you are promoted to senior position then it will definitely effect your work permit conditions.

Seniors correct me if I'm wrong.

Regards
