From Tier 1 to ILR: Proof of Income

Post by ben1972 » Sat Feb 04, 2012 2:37 pm

Hi,

I am in the UK right now for a period of nearly 4 years under the Tier 1 scheme that was extended/coverted from HSMP after 2 years.

In February 2013 I will be able to apply for ILR after completion of 4 years and 11 monthes in the UK.

My main concern is that i was unemployeed during the last few months so i will not be able to provide 12 months salary slips but less. I am not worried about finding a job in the next 2-3 months but i am not sure whether the Home Office will accept only 9 or 10 salary slips for the ILR.

Therefor, it will be highly appriciated if anyone could clarify the requirement for the proof of income from Tier 1 toward the ILR.

Many thanks,
Ben

Hi,

There is no problem with the fact that you have been out of work. The issue you should be concerned with is if the 9 or 10 month salary slips you have are able to get you the points you require to qualify.

If you are able to get the required points in the 9 to 10 months, then you are fine.

Kind Regards

Hi Thebionicredneck2003,

Many thanks for your very positives and relaxing answer. :)
I am aware that i will need to bring at least 35K per year in order to obtain 40 points and be qualified with 75 points in total together with my Master degree.

The number of salary slips that i mentioned (7 or8) was a guess as i dont know exactly when i will start my next job.

Do you think that meeting the annual target (35K) with fewer salary slips (say 3-4) will also enable me to meet this requirement for the ILR?

Once again, many thanks for your answer.

Ben

No. of salary slips i.e. period doesnot matter, it can be fewer than 12 months, as long as you earn sufficient points for previous earnings, It should be alright.

I agree with nnj10. As long as you meet the earnings requirement, you will be fine.

Dude,

I am not sure about this. Basically HM says person must economically active during 5 years time. I do not get this. If you are jobless for 6 or 7 months then whats gona happen??
What is this economically active mean? I was also jobless for 7 months.
