Emergency Back home - How to Check Tier2 Application Status

Post by naz77 » Mon Feb 06, 2012 1:43 pm

Hi Guys,

I had my Bio-metrics done on 24th of Jan and due to an emergency back home India, I have to travel on 21st of Feb . Is there any way we can know the status of application and when it will be couriered to me.

Please guide me in this situation as I'm bit worried

Regards
Naz

You can't! These idiots on phone (Immigration Enquiry) won't give you a status update until it has been at least 6 months since your application was lodged.

You can however, speak to your local MP, explain him your situation and ask him to write to UKBA asking them to prioritise your case.

If you really absolutely need to go and haven't got a choice, then you can withdraw your application and get your passport back. But it has its own consequences.

Hi naz77,

Currently UKBA are processing apllications that have attended bio-metrics on or before 23rd January. I am 99% sure that you will get your passport and BRP before 21st Feb. There is definitely nothing to panic. Just to let you know that the UKBA timeline is guide line only.

I had my biometrics taken on the 25th. It is a change of employer application. I am unable to start my new job unless I get the visa sorted. You can imagine how difficult it is for me now to maintain my family. My new employer (a university) is also in trouble as no one knows exactly when this would be done. Seems like it is beyond all humanitarian/professional norms! UKBA appears to have no accountability, nothing whatsoever.

the sponsor can check if the CoS has gone 'used' which usually means that a decision has been made. They could also try to contact the UKBA but there is no guarantee they will get to speak to anyone who can give any useful info

I got my BRP today, a week after completing my biometrics. My employer and my MP both requested UKBA to expedite the application. I suggest you do the same if you are unsure.

Send it to the same address where you posted your application. It's best to post it.

@naz77, thanx a lot for the information.

@rajeev
I posted my application on the 19th of December and got the ack letter on the 28th. After long and agonising wait for almost 4 weeks on the 16th of Jan I had my biometric letter. Biometrics taken on the 25th and now biting my nails (none left though) for the documents. Good luck!

Give it minimum 4 weeks and get your employer to check the status of your COS. if its turned to "Used" from "Assigned" you can expect the decision within days.
In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on :)
