congrats ejaz! :D

we are still awaiting determination from the judge..very long wait!

i think you should be ok if you submit it without the call letter but if they have said they have posted it to you then i would wait just to be sure. you will get it in 2 to 3 days then you can go with the letter and feel more confident.

good luck and let us know what you decide to do!!

also..can you tell me when you roughly recieved your determination letter after your appeal hearing??

thanks again

Chimpee :)

Hi baz,

Hope your well and welcome!

I think that the quality of the file does make a difference and also immigration history! If your wife has a good immigration history and as long as you have covered all requirements in terms Of documents then there should be no problem..

Has your wife taken any English tests??

The rough timescale they give is 60 working days but if you read back in this forum u will see people that got it a lot sooner and some even after 60 days. just stay strong and positive and please keep up updated :)

Good luck and you have my best wishes

Chimpee :)

Just going by peoples responses, would be fair to expect a response in 1-2 months? Does the quality of the application make a difference or does it not really matter at all?

Thanks and please wish us luck!

Hey all

Just a quick update for you guys.. My husband called the AIT today and they advised him that the determination letter regarding our appeal has been sent out today so we will get a decision very soon!

The determination letter is being sent to india so will take a while but my husband emailed them giving them authority to send me a copy of the determination letter here in the UK so we will get it a lot quicker..

Fingers crossed we will hear something within the next few days and hope the result will be positive!

Good luck to everybody waiting..

This is a wonderful forum. I have some major questions. Has anyone appealed against an ECOs decision after the changes made on December 19? How is the process different besides the inclusion of a fee?

At the hearing is it enough that ones sponsor acts as a non legal representative? Or should one hire a solicitor? What should one expect at the hearing?

I would greatly appreciate your help :)

I will keep all up to date on progress and also submit a full list of the documents i submitted if and when i get a positive response.

Congrats Chimpee....

Update for me too... I have got call latter today and its stated tht

PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR PASSPORT ALONG WITH THIS LATTER TO OUR OFFICE AT THE ABOVE ADDRESS (BRITISH DEPUTY HIGH COMMISION, MUMBAI) BETWEEN 8 AM & 11 AM ON ANY DAY MONDAY TO FRIDAY.

They have asked me to submit passport at high commiion and not at VFS... Does it mean i will get passport back with visa on the same day in evening?

They did not ask for wife passport copy and even intended travel date... Like many others were asked to do so in call latter...

Congrats to both of you! :)

We are still waiting in appeal I'm afraid so no news from me.

It would be good to know if anyone else that views this forum is currently waiting for their visa or appeal or what the general status is out there. Has anyone else applied in Chennai?

Hi
Congratulations to all of you that won on appeal.

Chimpee I wonder if you could be of help, I really think you have done a wonderful job and hope you are celebrating ! I have been following this discussion board and its great to see success.

How did you prove the relationship was genuine to the HO,
questions
did you live together in the uk ?
marry in the uk or india ?
how and when did you meet and relationship start etc.. (sorry to sound like an ECO !)

im totally impressed you done all the paperwork yourself and hey...would like your help...wish we could talk on the phone as it would be easier..

Its I find myself in the same predicament as yourself...but a long way off from success but am hoping...so literally am doing my homework on this first...yes taken legal advice giving me three options...my partner is in the same situation that your husband is chimpee so...how and what did u decide to do...well obviously you won...
I know the technical refusal information like already I know he will be refused on 320 11 if we apply and they usually at the HO say the relationship is not genuine..to double whammy that but as your relationship is genuine the 320 11 did not stand on appeal..so you lucky things ! I have heard so many horror stories regarding immigration...but i think keeping cool calm and collected helps...its stressful but again HELP...hope this all makes sense...xx

Hi All,

Just thought I'd let you know that our appeal has been allowed. It took some time to sink in that it was all finally over.

I hope those of you that are still waiting recieve good news very soon.

Hi Everyone,

Spiritz, Where did you apply for the visa from?

I applied from Mumbai on the 13th of February 2012 and its just been 10 working days since.

Do they count the days from when it is submitted? Or is it counted from the day it goes under process at the BHC?

We didn't have a perfect folder submission. There were some things that everyone gives that we didn't give. I hope everyone who got their visa's is extremely happy. I try not to think of mine.

Hi I wonder if anyone can answer the following

How much do you need to show in your account or earn for sponsoring your spouse from abroad?

photos - so we have a few key pics like xmas and our first date type of pics...with family

bills - one bill in his name..

proof from other people...?

every application is different but I know if someone else has been successful on something then its usually the same for the next person... i.e. funds...

job letters prior to arrival in uk - its not easy to get anyone to give a job letter...he would be based in construction

last question ...if I was pregnant then would they take that into account..would hate to go through that alone...

I would be applying from Jalandar but it would be in Delhi ultimately that the paperwork gets sent to..have heard horror stories about them...

also
History
did anyones partner overstay or get caught and fined ? no paperwork relating to this so am confused

Hi
Bunny 7783
Spiritz, Where did you apply for the visa from?
Hubby applied at Bangalore.
Do they count the days from when it is submitted?
I would say start counting from the 14th Feb in ur case, I might be wrong but I think they only update the online status or send sms as and when they seem its feesable.
We didn't have a perfect folder submission. There were some things that everyone gives that we didn't give.
Dont worry dear, When I started reading other ppls posts on what docs they sent I got worried as mine was different also. As u have submitted all u can do is wait now. Pm me if u have any further concerns.
Goodluck.

Jaani
How much do you need to show in your account or earn for sponsoring your spouse from abroad?
As long as you can show u have funds of £105.95 a week after paying for housing and council tax and not having public fundings you should be fine.
There are speculations that amount earned may change in April but nothing has been confirmed check ukba site for updates.
photos - so we have a few key pics like xmas and our first date type of pics...with
just send what you have.
bills - one bill in his name..
The sponsor will need to send a few bills in name at the address applying from.
proof from other people...?
As urs is an overstayer case then charachter statements and relation acknowledgement will go in ur favour.
job letters prior to arrival in uk - its not easy to get anyone to give a job letter...he would be based in construction
Agreed not always possible to get a job offer letter but what you can do is search for prospected jobs in his field and show that he can find a job when applicant is here. See pm.
if I was pregnant then would they take that into account
Pregnancy hmmm they take that info in to account but it will not determine visa.

Hope info helps.
When U wanting to apply?
Dont be worried by horror stories.
Any further help just ask.

Hi dominoe

Well the problem is that BHC or VFS do not tell you the outcome of the application, you will need to check your passport once you get the documents back if you got the VISA or not.

Best of luck with your VISA!!! I am pretty sure you will not be able to sleep tonight :)
