AGE Points..please help

Post by imranhameed2000 » Tue Feb 07, 2012 3:43 pm

I was initially granted tier- 1(general) when i was 28 years old and scored 20 points for that.

when i will go for my extension i will be 30....will i still get 20 points on my initial age base or will i be scoring only 10 points for 30 years old age.

Pleas help.

No... you don't need to. Just show the earnings that you need to get the necessary points. No one checks the earnings that you showed the last time.

You can claim your point on the basis of what you have earned. Its not necessary that you have to show exact amount what you earned at the time of initial grant.

Read the application form buddy. It says very clearly in the points section that you need to provide the age at the time of first application.

Please tick the relevant box to confirm the points claimed by the applicant on the basis of his/her age at the date of application for the first grant of leave in the category.

Applications for leave to remain where the applicant has, or has had, leave as a Highly Skilled Migrant, as a Writer, Composer or Artist, Self-employed Lawyer, or as a Tier 1 (General) Migrant under the Rules in place before 6 April 2010, and has not been granted leave in any categories other than these since 6 April 2010

Under 28 years of age
20 points
28 or 29 years of age
10 points
30 or 31 years of age
5 points

All other applications for leave to remain
Under 30 years of age
20 points
30 to 34 years of age
10 points
35 to 39 years of age
5 points

Which one is applicable to me here...bit confusing sorrryyyy

Imran,

If you had an initial 3 yr visa granted before 6 April 2010. The option that you need to choose is:

Under 28 years of age
20 points

In case you received the visa after 6 April 2010, you need to choose:

Under 30 years of age
20 points

Hope that makes sense.

Yes you can.

As long as you qualifies for it.

Yes you can.

The only issue might be that you would fall short of the ILR time frame of 5 yrs. They allow a gap of 3 months at the max so plan accordingly.
