Long posting time?

Post by friendinneed » Wed Feb 08, 2012 2:36 pm

Speaking to UKBA managed to get the chap to look at the case though under 6 months old for application made in mid Nov. They adv the decision has been made and the letter would be out in a "few weeks".

Now I know Royal Mail is slow but a couple of weeks seems a fairly long time for what I assume is pretty much a stock letter.

Once a case worker makes a decision what further elements are involved that may explain the delay? Does it have to be ratified by another? Does it only take a few weeks if its negative or positive?

there is no clear policy in here

some people received the approval letter just 2 days after been issued , others have to wait 2 weeks

the only thing for sure is that HO use second class post when sending the decision

by the way how did you manage to get an update from them; as they usually dont provide any while your application less than 6 months old?

Luck more than anything, first time called got the 6 months argument and saying the IVF tells you that you cannot get info before 6 months (though it doesnt with option 2 + 2). Second time tried a softly softly approach and bonding over shared call centre experience and got them to agree to just quickly check if a case worker had been appointed and they then said the decision had been made.
