A loophole?

Post by daYZman » Thu Feb 09, 2012 3:32 pm

Hi

If I understand correctly, the £200k could come from third parties, who might be parents, relatives or friends. Since the money doesn't need to be invested into any business prior to the application and there's no obligation to invest the £200k during the 3 years, the visa holder could invest not even a penny into any business during his/her stay. Isn't this some kind of a loophole then?

There is an obligation if the person wants to extend their stay.

Sure, but there isn't one for new applications. Basically, say, one could find 5 people anywhere in the world with £40k each and simply sign a declaration - a declaration that is quite meaningless since the money doesn't need to be spent if the applicant has no intention to extend his/her stay after 3 years.

Well, even if this person get's this visa this way, then he/she will be working illegally in UK because he is allowed only to run his/her own business.

Then if he/she is caught it can lead to 10 years ban which will also apply to other EU countries and US/Canada/Australia/NZ, etc. because they share common database.

So theoretically, you can abuse the system in many ways, but only the stupid will do it, you have only one life. If you expect to live 1000 years then go ahead and try it.

Even after 10 years ban, you may be refused visa because you will be asked in all application forms to describe if you ever been banned...
