No, your biometric information is electronically sent to the Home Office by the Post Office. No need for you to do anything else.

travel with visa approval letter

Post by samindaksm » Wed Feb 15, 2012 9:09 pm

I was planning to apply for PSW by ne day service since I need to go back country urgently. But unfortunately there are no appointments availabe in any of the centres in March. Therefore I'll have to use normal service and I hope it'd take more than two months for me to get the BRP. But I noticed in most cases, the passport and the visa approvla letrter receive withing 5-6 weeks. Is it possible to travel with the visa approval letter and the passport ? My current visa expires in 30th March and I need to travel in 9th of April. thanks

Hi!! It is not possible to travel with your approval letter as it is clearly mentioned in the letter that the applicant shouldn't make any travel arrangements until the BRP is recevied. But looking at the present situation, it looks like every one will get it within 6 weeks time. You nee not worry about the expiry of your current visa as it is not an issue when your application is under process.. All the best for your proceedings..

Congratulations! Just wondering if you are based in London or somewhere else? I live in Liverpool and it looks like it's taking longer than the applications from London. Thanks

I am Canadian, applying from Canada.

Application Submitted in Ottawa: 23 JAN 2012 (paid, biometrics done, sent package to Home Office in New York from Ottawa)
Application Received by UKBA in New York: 24 JAN 2012 (confirmed by email)
Application in process: 26 JAN 2012 (confirmed by email)
Received email from UKBA New York stating that further processing is required for my application: 17 FEB 2012
Visa granted: 17 FEB 2012
Passport & Documents - 21 FEB 2012

A very special thank you to immigrationboards.com for being so helpful. This has been the only source of legit information I could find (other than the UKBA website) and it has been crucial to the success of my recent application. Thanks so much!!

I'm hoping that we can get a thread started about the new Tier 1 Exceptional Talent visa. Please can this happen?

biometrics at the Post Office

Post by haruumare » Fri Feb 17, 2012 6:49 pm

I've got an biometrics invitation by email this morning.
There are no information about biometrics at a Post Office.
Is there any information about biometrics at a Post Office in a letter if there is no info in an email?

I booked biometrics on line but family booking (I have a dependant) is very busy and I could book 7th March in Liverpool.
We are going back to our country on 31st March, so I'm so worried if our passport will not return by then.
