Sole Representative Visa

Post by dejavu » Mon Feb 13, 2012 2:56 am

One of my best friends oversea needs to apply for a sole rep visa for the UK.

He has worked as a sole rep in india/indonesia/africa countries.

There are very limited information on this one :(

Anyone knows?

hi vinny, thanks very much for replying.

I did go through most policy doc online at some point. (it is strange how my friend enquired about sol rep in his own country but all they did was refer him to UKBA website with no further info. in reality sol rep visa should be decided in his home country without passing back to the uk....)

My question is : How long does one have to work for parent company before he can apply? 2 years? 6 months?

My friend has been working as sole rep for the past 8 years in countries like India/Indonesia/kenya/tanzania..... for the past 4 years till current he works in liberia.

Now he has received a job offer from another company wanting him to set up a branch in the UK. Would he be eligible to apply if he is new to the company?

many thanks.

sorry another question on english requirement.

conflicting information:

under policyandlaw link wrk2.2.14, the required level for english test is C1
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/polic ... /#header13

under visa-immigration link, the required level for english test is A1.
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... hlanguage/#
