Tier 1 general Extension- Maintenance of Fund-Dependants'

Post by guddu84 » Mon Feb 06, 2012 7:49 pm

I am going to apply for extension that is due on 14th June. I have got Visa intially for 2 years (T1 stamped on 14th June 2010).

For maintenaning fund for 90 days, I should maintain £800 for 90days or more till date of application.

I read online http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... ent-funds/

"If the main Tier 1 (General) applicant or migrant has been in the UK for less than 12 months, you must show that you or they have at least £1,600 to support you, in addition to the funds needed to support them.

If the main applicant or migrant has been in the UK for 12 months or more, you or they must have at least £533 to support you."

I have a question regarding Dependants' maintenance
Q. I have STAYED more that 12 months in uk, SHOULD it require continuous STAY (because I generally go for vacation to India couple of time for 10-15 days within 12 months).? what should i maintain in this case 533 or 1600.?

If you stayed in UK for more than 12 months then it should be 533.(800 for main applicant)

Does the guidance say that you need to be in UK for a continuous period of 12 months? If not, then its not mandatory.

'nyways y d u want to take the risk? Why not show as much savings as you can? I showed maintenance funds in excess of 10K when I applied for extension.
