from my experience, I renewed my passport during the citizenship process and they did not ask for the new passprt copy and right now I'm already Irish citizen, good luck to you and all

[quote="ImmigrationLawyer"]Has there been a poll done on this website of applicants waiting 2 years + and the country they are from? IME it seems to be people from Muslim countries where there are islamic terrosist groups operating? Sounds a little dramatic but the facts would seem to back this up. Everyone I know waiting 2-3 years + is from either: Somalia, Pakistan, Iran or Afghanistan.[/quote

Things are moving quickly in the right direction. Thanks to the new government.

Thanks everyone for your support and good luck.
Congratulations !

I have 2 questions
1) Did you already have LTR if yes when did you get LTR before naturalization approval?

2) I am just curious on what range your reference number was? I do not want ur exact number ofcourse just 68/12xx/10 may be give me range like between 2000-2500;?

I also applied in May 2010 and applied LTR in June 2011. No word from LTR or naturalization as of yet.

Spouse Citizenship application

Post by time2act » Tue Feb 28, 2012 12:47 pm

Hi Guys,

Can you please advise from your experience and knowledge,

" Can I apply for my wife's citizenship when I acquired mine on last year?
We have been married and living in Ireland from last 3 years?

Would she has to wait for another 3 years after I acquire the citizenship?"

Thanks for your help,
Yash

Hi IQU i don't think anything will happen again until middle of March, so they can book more people on the April ceremony if they don't have enough; i think.

Yes. I also made this (what i thought was a ) rather sensible suggestion a few weeks ago but was quickly knocked down.
Lesson learned for making sensible suggestions on this forum. Won't be logging on here much longer anyway.

Anyway, i was approved and my number was in the 3400's from April 2010.

Shouldn't be long for you now. Good luck.

There are two process in INIS

1. Initial process which means checking of application, GARDA report, social welfare report etc.

2. Further process which mean final checking with Garda, social welfare (these process are very quick takes maximum 6 weeks aprox) and signature of minister for approval.

if your file is in further process that mean you will get your approval within next 3-6 months depending on work load.
